Welcome to this week’s installment of F2P Friday, where we highlight our favorite Free-2-Play games. The video game market is oversaturated, and sometimes, hidden gems fall through the cracks. This is where we dig for you and feature a new F2P game we know you will enjoy every week. Let’s dive in.
Age of Water: The First Voyage
Embark on your first adventure on a post-apocalyptic Earth wholly covered in water. Sail through storms, fight and trade, capture other people’s boats or build your own, extract resources from the bottom of the ocean and reveal the secrets of the Age of Water world.

The Basics
Let’s get down to the basics. Age of Water: The First Voyage, developed by Three Whales Studio, is an action-adventure game with a setting like Water World meets Borderlands. The world is robust and supports several different play types, including base-building and resource management mechanics, which are built through exploration.
A fair amount of water-based combat revolves around the boats you modify and the crew you bring to man the ship. The customizable ships handle well and never feel too cumbersome to pilot or use to explore the world. The responsive controls are especially handy when pirates pop up on the sea.

Why Should I Play?
Why should you play Age of Water: The First Voyage Prologue? This is an awesome free demo with a fair amount of replayability. As we wait for the full release, some features are limited, but the gameplay is still rounded, and the controls are responsive. The NPCs are interesting, the world is detailed and the combat is engaging. I am very excited about the full game. This is one game you’ll be proud to say you found early.
